Year in Review

Who is CCF?Dear Friends,

We hope you have been able to visit and enjoy Carlisle’s natural spaces in meaningful ways this year. In addition to coordinating the outreach activities highlighted in this card, CCF continues its core mission of working, often behind the scenes, to preserve the rural character and natural beauty of Carlisle.

Since its founding in 1960, CCF has played a major role in the permanent preservation of more than two thousand acres of land in our town—for agriculture, critical habitat, watershed protection, trails, and scenic vistas, including another 55+ acres this past year.

The pandemic and the limits it has placed on human interaction have demonstrated the vital importance of Carlisle’s open spaces. We invite you to join in our preservation and education work and give generously to CCF.

Sincerely,
Kelly Guarino

Blandings Turtles

Above: For the 13th consective year, CCF is fully funding the Blanding’s Turtle Head Start Program, giving CPS 5th graders a hands-on experience with environmental stewardship through field trips and in-class learning. Students study wetland ecology and landscape history and hone math skills graphing the baby turtles’ growth.

Call for Art

Above left, With the pandemic still limiting group activities, CCF again partnered with the Trails Committee to host a week-long “Community Trails Day” to encourage Carlisleans of all ages and their friends to get out in nature for a welcome respite from the months of virtual isolation. Trail Marker Bingo added to the fun.

Right, In celebration of its 60th Anniversary in 2020, CCF is sponsoring an art exhibition to be held October- December 2022, at the Gleason Public Library. All are invited to submit artwork inspired by Carlisle's Open Spaces, including any of the CCF-owned properties and CCF-held Conservation Restrictions (CRs).

We appreciate your support.
