Nielsen and Baker Host CCF
Annual Meeting
Give 10 Acre Conservation Restriction.

Nina Nielsen and John Baker at the entrance to their barn on Estabrook Road

On a sunny Sunday, June 10, 2001, more than 40 members of the Carlisle Conservation Foundation gathered at the wonderfully restored Nielsen/Baker barn to celebrate its 41st annual meeting. One of the highlights of the meeting was the announcement by Ken Harte that Nina Nielsen and John Baker had placed a permanent conservation restriction on 10 acres of property, most of it being in Concord. Critical to Carlisle’s access to the Estabrook Woods is the donated right of passage on the north end of the trail, which the town had made a discontinued road. The restriction also conserves as open space a buildable lot at the trail head. The conservation restriction is held by the Trustees of Reservations and becomes part of the greater Estabrook Woods.
